CONCORD, Mass. — July 18, 2017 — The Boston Renegades will be playing for their fourth national title on Saturday, July 22, when they play the Dallas Elite in the Women’s Football Alliance title game in Pittsburgh (7 p.m.).
Emily Beinecke, a former three-sport athlete at Concord-Carlisle High School, is in her third season with the Renegades.
A 5-foot, 10-inch wide receiver, Beinecke earned WFA All-America honors with 31 catches for 395 yards (12.7 average and a long of 55 yards), scoring five touchdowns. She also earned All-America recognition last season.
The Renegades enter the championship game with a 9-0 record after defeating the Chicago Force, 47-33 for the National Conference championship on Saturday, July 8 in Revere.
After going 7-0 in the regular season, the Renegades earned a first-round bye in the playoffs. They defeated the DC Divas, 27-24 in the quarterfinals at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury. Beinecke caught five passes for 35 yards and one touchdown.
Beinecke also scored the winning touchdown, a 55-yard scoring play, with one minute left to play against the Pittsburgh Passion, giving the Renegades a 33-28 victory on May 13.
At Concord-Carlisle, Beinecke played soccer (goalkeeper), basketball (guard) and softball (shortstop). She was a Dual County League MVP in softball and earned league all-star honors in all three sports.
Beinecke played softball at Tufts University, helping the Jumbos win a national championship in 2013. She was an assistant coach on Tufts’ 2014 national championship team.
