Boston Renegades Wide Receiver Lauren Yung

Prior to joining the Renegades, Lauren Yung had a prolific and decorated athletic career throughout high school and college.

As a member of the Algonquin Regional High School (Northborough, Mass.) Tomahawks volleyball team, Lauren earned three letters and was selected team captain three times. She was twice recognized as the team’s defensive MVP, and thrice selected as student athlete of the month. A three-time all star of the Mid Wachusett A League, Yung received recognition multiple times from the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, being selected three times to the “T & G Super Team” before being named the “Hometeam Magazine Player of the Year” in 2010. Lauren became a bronze medal winner at the Bay State Games, and was a participant at multiple Junior Olympic National Volleyball Tournaments. A selection to the 2010 Girls Volleyball Coaches Association Division I All (Mass.) State Team topped off her high school volleyball career.

Lauren continued playing volleyball at Washington University in St. Louis where she lettered four times and was elected senior captain. She also collected a University Athletic Association (UAA) championship title in 2011, and made four trips to the NCAA tournament. Yung also earned selections to the UAA All-Academic Team in her junior and senior years.

After college, Yung joined the Brandeis Judges women’s varsity volleyball staff as an assistant coach, and has also coached club teams. In addition to playing wide receiver for the Renegades, Lauren Yung is pursuing a career in the sports industry after completing her MBA and MS in Sport Management.

Yung has established herself as a dependable receiver with fierce blocking skills. Her gravitation to the gridiron is one of the focal points in the documentary film Born To Play.
