Renegades Name John Johnson Head Coach

December 9, 2015

BOSTON — December 9, 2015 — The Boston Renegades are excited to welcome John Johnson as their new head coach for the 2016 season.

Coach Johnson joins the team with extensive experience having coached football at the High School and Semi-Pro levels for over 16 years. In his career, he has held positions of Defensive Coordinator and Offensive Coordinator with the Boston Bandits Semi-Professional Football Team, of which he was a member for 9 years, winning 4 New England Football League (NEFL) Championships during his tenure. Coach Johnson also currently coaches at Framingham (Massachusetts) High School as a Varsity Assistant Coach.

Coach Johnson also has 6 years of experience working with women’s Semi-pro teams, and the Renegades are extremely lucky to have him on board. His knowledge, passion and energy on the field make him an incredible asset to us and are helping to set the tempo and expectations for a successful season. Coach Johnson is building out the balance of his coaches in the coming weeks. We expect many returning coaches and some new faces for 2016. Another announcement will be made when once the staff is finalized.

We are incredibly grateful to our amazing roster of coaches from 2015. We have expressed our respect and gratitude for the love and support they showed us. Without them and their conviction that the Renegades were worth fighting for, we would not have had a team.

Coach Johnson knows, and we know, that 2016 will be a different season for us. We will have to train smarter, work harder and be so much damn tougher than we ever have been. We are incredibly happy to have him on board for the fight ahead and look forward to his leadership.
