Ash Beckham attended Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas where she competed in softball and wrestling. As an adult, she became a practitioner of jiu jitsu, and discovered that football provided more than just a physical outlet.
“Football means more than just Saturday night lights, and W’s,” Ash explained. “This team, this sport, has given me a family, a sense of belonging, and a place I have ultimately grown into the woman I am today. So the game of football is a representation of the person I was always meant to be, and this team is what gave me the freedom to find that.”
Beckham is also a member of the U.S. Women’s National Football Team. The team won the gold medal at the 2022 IFAF Women’s World Championship.
Ash’s desire to defeat the D.C. Divas is a memorable moment in the documentary film Born To Play. When Beckham isn’t on the field, she enjoys spending time with her dog Bailey.
