“Football isn’t just a game, it’s a passion,” explains Erin Diette, a four-time All Star. “You have to have the love for the game to keep coming back year after year, thru the pain, thru the monetary commitment, thru the time commitment; it’s all about love of the game and my teammates.”

Diette’s passion for sports was evident at Rockville (Conn.) High School where she competed in soccer, softball, and indoor track, all while playing in the marching band. After college, she discovered women’s football and joined the Connecticut Crush in 2009.

Having played at seven positions over more than a decade spent with five different teams, Diette is one of the Renegades’ most experienced and adaptable players. She has been a key team member in the trenches, working Boston’s opponents on both sides of the line of scrimmage. She doesn’t mind being asked to play wherever on the field she is needed.

“This is a second family and that’s important to me.”
