PLAYER INFORMATION

Penny Fagnani

“When I was younger I wanted to play football,” says Penny Fagnani. “I would do warm ups with my brother and his Pop Warner team but then my mom signed me up for cheerleading because no other girls were on the field. Many years later I found girls play football too! And now, my family and friends come to the games to support me, which feels great.”

Fagnani played softball, field hockey, and basketball at Upper Darby (Pa.) High School, and then played football with the Philadelphia Firebirds and the New York Knockout before becoming a Renegade. “I value the opportunity to compete in a community with high standards.” She explains, “There is so much passion in everyone, it drives me to improve. The environment itself inspires me to achieve more.”

It is clear that Fagnani holds esteem in high priority, having learned as a rookie from her Firebirds Team Captain Jess Taylor how to be a good teammate. “She was always helping others understand their responsibilities. Always taking questions and making sure everyone was on the same page. Helping get players to practice. Handling the team’s clerical matters, pursuing businesses sponsorships, and organizing fundraisers.”

Fagnani has found that she fits right in with the Renegades. “The time we put in to make each other better makes me feel like they care as much as I do. We can all rely on each other to do what is needed on and off the field.”

Currently a professional driver, Fagnani aspires to owning a successful business fostering animals on a farm.
