Christina Riggieri was a three-sport athlete at North High School in her hometown of Worcester, Mass., and competed in basketball and softball at Quinsigamond Community College before continuing on to Worcester State University. “I’ve been involved in sports for most of my life, but for me there hasn’t been another sport that compares to this game,” says Riggieri, better known to her teammates as ‘Riggs’.
“Football requires a whole other level of work ethic and mental toughness,” she explains. “I have learned time and time again I can handle more than I had thought. To be fair, it is easier to take on more than you think you can handle when you have countless examples around you doing the same.”
